F.A.Q.

Questions About Appointments Answered Here

Yes, I am accepting new clients.

The first step is to contact me through this website or my iTherapy platform

If you are a new client to my practice, I will respond to you within the 1-2 business days to set up an initial 15-minute FREE phone consultation. During this time, I will also ask you a few questions about what brings you to therapy and to ensure that my level of care fits your needs. You also can answer questions you may have. If it is decided we are a good fit, then we will set up an initial intake interview.

  • The initial intake assessment interview may take 90 minutes
  • The typical individual psychotherapy session takes 60 minutes
  • There is also a shorter individual psychotherapy session that is 30 minutes; and a longer individual psychotherapy session that is 90-minutes
  • Therapy should feel like a safe space and relationship between two people to work on problems and goals
  • Therapy will be different depending on the individual because each person has different issues and goals for their therapy
  • Depending on your specific needs, therapy can be short-term, for a specific issue, or longer-term, to deal with more difficult patterns or your desire for more personal development
  • The ultimate purpose of therapy is to help you bring what you learn in session back into your life and therefore it is important to understand that you will get more results from therapy if you actively participate in the process
  • Appointments MUST be cancelled 24 hours in advance.
  • Any appointment missed, late cancelled, or changed WITHOUT 24-hour notice will result in a charge equal to 100% of the reserved service amount. This is still the case even if you normally use insurance. Please note that late cancellation and missed appointment fees are not eligible for reimbursement from insurance companies and are not considered eligible expenses for HSAs or FSAs.
  • This is standard policy within the field because it provides enough time to offer another client who needs help and is on the waitlist. I understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary. Please understand that when you forget, cancel, or change your appointment without giving enough notice, I miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time.
  • Cancellations MUST be made by a phone call, voicemail, or email. Text message cancellations will NOT be excepted.
